Mother’s Day 2017 in Boston, MA

Easter may be this weekend but the next holiday to look forward to in Boston, MA is Mother’s Day. We are halfway through April so it’s time to start planning now! Are you looking to take mom out to show her how much you appreciate her? Here are some highlights of mom-centric activities for you and yours in Boston, MA.

Boston Ducklings Day Parade. The Friends of the Public Garden host the annual Duckling Day Parade, a Mother's Day tradition for over 20 years. Led by the Harvard University Marching Band, the parade will begin in the Boston Common at the Parkman Bandstand and will end in the Public Garden near the famous Make Way for the Ducklings sculptures. Prior to the parade there will be plenty of family entertainment for you to spend the morning. Registration begins at 10am at the base of the Shaw Memorial, parade is at noon.

New England Zoo's. Both the Franklin Park and Stone Zoo's will help you celebrate mom's wild side. All mothers enter free on Mother's Day, May 11th!

Brunch. Make a fuss over Mom this Mother's Day with a special meal out. Some of Boston, MA's finest restaurants are offering special brunches, lunches, and dinners just in her honor. Boston.Chefs.com has a fine run down of the offerings this year and has easy access to OpenTable for reservations.

Spa Day. Moms have one of the toughest jobs, let her decompress with a wonderful spa day! Boston, MA has plenty of spas to pamper mom with, here is a list on Yelp with reviews so you can pick the perfect place.

New Year’s Day Brunch in Boston

It's not too early to start thinking about New Year’s Day as we are quickly moving through December. A time-honored tradition for many is to start off the New Year with a delicious brunch to rehash last night's goings on and to help ease recovery from the Boston, MA New Year's Eve festivities. Boston, MA has plenty of options for restaurants from the sweet to the savory, along with the perfect drinks to help you recuperate. Whether you’re starting the new year bright eyed and bushy tailed or still recovering from a rowdy evening out on the town, make your first meal of 2017 a good one at any of these restaurants, all of which will be open for business on New Year’s Day.

Met Back Bay. Get 2017 off to a sweet (or savory) start at Met Back Bay. In addition to their regular array of a la carte options, they’ll be serving Dutch pancakes and a special holiday patty melt. Mooo…. Start 2017 with steak. Mooo at XV Beacon will be open for both brunch and dinner on New Year’s Day so you can stave off those resolutions for a little longer with a la carte decadence like blueberry beignets, Maine Lobster Benedict, and more meat than you could possible eat (though you can certainly try). Grafton Street Pub & Grill. Have your fill of hearty breakfast fare to start the new year, courtesy of Grafton Street Pub & Grill. Whether you are looking for a place to go after church or your annual Easter egg hunt, I've got you covered.
